Summary

Vehicle Speeding Guard is a driving aid that uses your device location to measure speed, look up posted speed limits, and alert you when you exceed your configured threshold. Vehicle Speeding Guard does not sell personal data or sensitive personal data.

Depending on how you use the app, Vehicle Speeding Guard may process:

Information We Collect or Process

Location and Driving Data

Vehicle Speeding Guard accesses device location when you grant location permission and start monitoring. This may include:

We use this data to:

Vehicle Speeding Guard may continue processing location while the app is minimized or the screen is off, but only after you start monitoring. Monitoring can be stopped from the app or the foreground-service notification.

Speed-Limit Lookup Requests

To identify posted speed limits, Vehicle Speeding Guard sends location-derived road lookup data to Vehicle Speeding Guard backend services. These requests may include:

Vehicle Speeding Guard's speed-limit lookup uses a Vehicle Speeding Guard gateway and self-hosted Valhalla map-matching backend. For premium users, Vehicle Speeding Guard may use HERE Maps speed-limit lookup to retrieve a posted limit for the current road area. HERE speed-limit values may be treated as authoritative for premium speed-limit display and alerts.

These services process location-derived road data to return speed-limit information. Vehicle Speeding Guard does not use precise foreground or background location data for advertising targeting.

Local App Data

Vehicle Speeding Guard stores some data locally on your device using app storage, including:

Vehicle Speeding Guard no longer uses a generic free-tier segment cache for normal live monitoring. The app may still keep short session state, held last-known values, and premium trusted cache entries where needed for reliability.

Local app data is generally removed when you clear app data or uninstall Vehicle Speeding Guard, subject to Android platform behavior and any device backup settings.

Debug Logs

Vehicle Speeding Guard includes an in-app debug log to help diagnose driving-session behavior. Debug logs may include timestamps, speed-limit lookup results, speed and alert decisions, GPS accuracy, provider status, road names or route labels, and similar diagnostic information.

Debug logs are stored locally on your device in a limited-size buffer. They are not sent to Vehicle Speeding Guard includes unless you choose to export or share them, or unless similar information is separately included in crash reports or backend service logs.

Diagnostics, Analytics, and Crash Reports

After onboarding is complete, Vehicle Speeding Guard includes may initialize Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics if enabled for the app build. These services may process:

We use this information to understand app quality, diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and measure feature usage. We do not intentionally include precise route history in analytics events.

Advertising Data

Free-tier users may see banner ads through Google AdMob if advertising is enabled and production ad IDs are configured. Google AdMob and related Google advertising services may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location, IP address, ad interaction data, and other data as described by Google's policies.

Ads are not shown to premium users. Vehicle Speeding Guard includes does not use precise foreground or background location data for ad targeting.

Where required by law or platform policy, including for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Vehicle Speeding Guard includes or Google may ask for consent choices before using cookies, local storage, advertising identifiers, analytics storage, or personalized ads.

Subscription and Purchase Data

Vehicle Speeding Guard uses RevenueCat and Google Play Billing to manage subscriptions and lifetime purchases. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. Vehicle Speeding Guard may receive or process:

Vehicle Speeding Guard does not receive your full payment card number from Google Play or RevenueCat.

Network and Device Information

When the app communicates with Vehicle Speeding Guard services or third-party SDKs, basic network and device information may be processed automatically, such as:

These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies and/or as service providers for app functionality. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or business transfer.

We do not sell personal data or sensitive personal data.

Vehicle Speeding Guard may request:

You can manage permissions in Android system settings. If required permissions are disabled, monitoring may not work.

Legal Bases for EEA, UK, and Swiss Users

If data protection laws in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland apply to your use of Vehicle Speeding Guard, our legal bases may include:

Data Retention

Local settings, monitoring state, debug logs, held last-known speed-limit state, premium trusted speed-limit cache entries, and the install token are retained on your device until they are overwritten by app operation, cleared by you, or removed when you clear app data or uninstall Vehicle Speeding Guard.

Debug logs are kept in a limited-size local buffer and older entries are overwritten as new entries are added.

Vehicle Speeding Guard backend logs and diagnostics are retained only as long as reasonably needed for service operation, security, debugging, rate-limiting, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

Firebase, AdMob, Google Play, RevenueCat, HERE, and other providers may retain data according to their own policies and your account, device, consent, or privacy settings.

Automated Decisions

Vehicle Speeding Guard automatically compares your current speed against the current posted speed limit to display status and trigger alerts. This driving-aid functionality does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through Vehicle Speeding Guard, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
